| If translated, "Skulpturens Hus" means "The House of the Sculpture". This would imply a snotty collection, not suitable for anybody not wearing a tiara, or it could be the name of a really bad movie, but the truth is it's neither. This museum was built in 1865, but back then it was Alfred Nobel's nitroglycerin factory, and the place where he two years later invented dynamite. All of this rather explosive history has resulted in the present day museum. It houses classic art with installations, paintings, modern and historic art, industrial art meant to explain Alfred Nobel's work in the field and a cafe/restaurant establishment. All in all this is a truly interesting place (in spite of the name) with a modern and industrial vibe, and anyone visiting will have a great time. General information | Photo: |
