Facing south: The Parliament building from 1905 covers almost the entire the island of Helgeandsholmen - the Island of The Holy Spirit - named after a hospital located here 500 years ago. Beyond the Parliament you can glimpse the Stallbron bridge leading across to the Old Town.

Facing east: Strömgatan, with the Prime Minister's official residence.

Facing north: Drottninggatan (Queen's street) lined with shops and leading through the government district into Stockholm's commercial centre.

Facing west: The Chancellery on the right side of the street and the Vasabron bridge that connects the northern mainland to the western part of the Old Town.
