MayGotland Musse Combo Festival 1 500 young musicians are gathering and playing on streets and markets. JulyStångaspelen (The Pole Games) This is the Gotlanders' own "Olympics". The participants compete in such sports as pärk, varpa and other Gotlandic fighting games. Most of the event date back to the Middle Ages. Gotland Chamber Music Festival Prominent international and Swedish musicians gather for performances in ruins and concert halls. Gotland's Historical Museum There are several exhibitions at the museum during the summer. AugustThe Medieval Week The biggest yearly event in Gotland, drwaing tens of thousands of visitors. Eight days full of theatre, jousting, music, tours and much more. Mingle with monks, knights, jesters, and maidens in distress. All takes place in and around the medieval town of Visby with its castles, ruins and cobbled streets. | The hotels are completely full during the medieval week held each year in August.
