Vaxholm Fortress

The museum displays the history of the fortress and coastal the Swedish defence, with emphasis on the defence of Stockholm's archipelago which in itself is rich with history. You can see one of the fortress bomb-proof vaults up close and personal, or see how the defence was prepared by soldiers. You can also visit the commandant in his office, see what it's like to be given orders or check out what the coastal artillery soldiers were up to when they were on duty out in the archipelago during the Second World War.
