Nämdö

This is a perfect island almost certainly made for a days outing. It's the biggest island in a group, and has a permanent population of about 50 people. Small picturesque winding roads and a rich scenic environment make it a place that inspires writing and anything to do with the arts. This is a place where it's easy to feel at peace.

If you're looking for a quicker tour then renting a bike is a wonderful way to get around.

Several famous Swedish singers and poets, such as Carl Michael Bellman, August Strindberg and Evert Taube, have described Nämdö in different scenarios through music and literature. Nämdö's oldest village is Västerby but Östanvik has played the most important role throughout Nämdö's history.
