The vast Stockholm archipelago, with its 25.000 islands is not just the vacation paradise for the Stockholmers, it is also the #1 excursion place for visitors.
The picturesque archipelago town of Vaxholm is just 10 miles east of Stockholm and easily the most popular excursion of all. Vaxholm is the main hub for scheduled archipelago traffic with boats coming and going all the time.
