    The Midsummer celebration around Lake Siljan is one of the most genuine celebrations Sweden can present - and everyone is welcome.

    Considered by international press to be: "One of the world's most beautiful and exotic outdoor arenas". Offers high-class concerts from May to September.
  3. Dalacarlian Horse making by Grannas A Olsson
    or by Nils Olsson, Nusnäs
    The symbol of Sweden, which all started as a toy for children. When our Prime Minister visits foreign dignitaries abroad, he takes a Dalecarlian Horse as a gift with him. Bill Clinton, amongst others, has got one. Nusnäs, just outside Mora, is the only place where they are made. Come and see the craftsmen carve and paint the country's most popular symbol.

  1. The Zorn Museum / The Home of Anders Zorn
    He painted portraits of three American presidents and is considered to be one of Sweden's finest artists of all time. Visit his art museum and his home - and get to know more about this multitalented man and his work - and also the work of his fascinating wife.

    One of Sweden's leading music festivals for the last 35 years!
  3. Orsa Bear Park
    Europe's largest bear park. Experience the bears in the wild: as close as you can possibly get to seeing them in their natural habitat. Also features wolves and lynxes.
  4. The Viking Graves at Sollerön
    Enjoy the fine exhibition of Viking objects found on the largest island in Lake Siljan - Sollerön.

  10. Classic Car Week
    The largest motoring event in Scandinavia, and definitely the most "family-friendly" car-meet anywhere.
  11. The Vasalopp Museum
    The world's longest (90 km) and largest (over 40,000 participants) ski race - which every year attracts cross-country skiers from all over the world. The Vasalopp Museum presents the history of this race, whose origins date back to the horrific Stockholm Bloodbath in 1520.
  12. Panoramic Views
    Siljan offers many panoramic views, some of which are starred in the Guide Michelin.
  13. Hildasholm
    Axel Munthe, the royal physician, gave this house as a wedding-gift to his wife at the turn of the century. See art from different centuries and experience the beautiful garden.
  14. Summer Toboggan Track (Sommarrodel)
    The longest summer toboggan track in Sweden - 700 meters! It is also the only one with twin, parallel runs, so you can race your family or friends. Even small children can ride, but with their parents.

    Sweden's most modern, 12 lane, bowling alley is in Orsa!

    A great reception by both the critics and the public at the opening in 2002!
  18. The Long Pier (Långbryggan)
    At 628 meters, probably the world's longest pier situated on a lake.

    Experience the deep roots of Swedish folk music.

    Learn more about Swedish folk music tradition and history - from the Viking age to the present.
  21. Karlfeldt's House (Karlfeldtsgården)
    This beautiful 16th century home became the home of the author and Nobel Prize winner Erik Axel Karlfeldt.
  22. The Countryside - inside the meteor crater
    The whole Siljan area is enclosed in the crater of one of the world's largest ever meteor impacts. The smooth crater sides caress the whole landscape. Some of Sweden's most famous poets and writers have tried to capture this special landscape in their lyrics and texts.
