| There are tons of things to choose from when the need for parties and the amount you're willing to spend on it don't match entirely. Below is a list of places that often don't have a cover charge but will still be a heck of a party. Remember, Stockholm has thousands of students with less money than you, and they still manage to have fun! The hot spotsA high density of bars can be found on Södermalm, which attracts a young, price-sensitive crowd. Favourites include the Kvarnen (Tjärhovsgatan 4, 643 03 80), arty Folkhemmet (Renstiernas Gata 30, 640 55 95) and the new, chic Öst 100 (Östgötagatan 100, 55 69 76 70). Mondo (Medborgarplatsen 8, 673 10 32), on Södermalm, is a huge cultural centre, with three stages, four dancefloors, five bars, a restaurant, a gallery and a cinema. Some of the best club nights in town are held at classic jazz joint Mosebacke (Mosebacke Torg 3, 55 60 98 90). Most clubs have a dress code, an age minimum (usually over 20) and weekend queues but it's all worth it, experience wise. | Photo:Ulf Hinds Another place worth a visit is Debaser, right in between Södermalm and the Old Town with a killer menu and live acts galore of all sorts Different themed clubs almost every night all year round. If cheap beer and a young crowd is what you're looking for then Söderhof (08-641 17 91 Tjärhovsg. 3) or Carmen (08-54 47 68 Kungstensg 89) is the place for you. |
