BathroomsThere are plenty of public bathrooms in Stockholm, but for some reason they often smell of urine, have smashed light-bulbs and are generally unappealing. Therefore, I dedicate this page to the nicer bathrooms that aren't going to cost you a dime, or Krona as it were. For those of you not willing to risk the doorman/waitress then here is a list of public bathrooms, but keep in mind they're pretty gross and cost money. (Bathrooms - pdf link) The ones I've personally tried out and recommend are listed below according to neighborhood and linked with a map. But don't feel like you're stuck with this list. By all means, use your imagination! The smarter choiceSödermalm Old Town Norrmalm |
Photo: Tips and tricksWhen using bathrooms that are for patrons only you embark on a little adventure in Stockholm. The rule "only paying customers" applies everywhere, but is of course often neglected by students and such not wanting to waste money on bodily functions. This is understandable and there are two main ways to go about this. One, urinate on the street or in a corner, but that's not the reccomendation. It smells, looks tacky and more and more people are recieving fine for it these days. The second one is better, just use a bathroom in a pub. Walk in like you're meeting somebody, then find the bathroom and use it. Simple. |
