Local news in English

There is no printed newspaper in English in Sweden, but a really good and professionally made e-zine called The Local providing daily local news in English.

Newspapers and magazines

"PressbyrÄn" operates a chain of small stores and news stands, selling some international newspapers and magazines. The one with the largest assortment is found in the Central Station.

Book stores

Most large bookstores sell books in English, some also in French, Spanish and Italian.

Radio

The major broadcasting company in Sweden is Sveriges Radio who provides public service broadcasting through the channelsP1, P2, P3, P4 and some local stations. Every town has its own commercial radio stations of which many are owned by international broadcasting companies. The most well known are; Golden Hits FM 100,8Radio Rixand Classic FM.

The Local

Television

In Sweden there are cables in most places providing a variety of television channels. In places without cable you have access to the public service channels TV1 and TV2 (public service) as well as commercial TV4. Better hotels will offer their guests CNN and/or BBC International.

The following are Swedish commercial channels; TV4 TV3 Kanal 5, ZTV, TV6 and TV 8.
