Electricity

The voltage in Sweden is 220-230V AC, with a frequency of 50/60 Hz. All new buildings erected after Jan. 1, 1994, will be in accord with EU standards, which means that all sockets are earthed. In buildings erected before Jan 1, 1994, earthed sockets will be found in bathrooms and in kitchens, with simple sockets everywhere else.

Hotels usually feature 110/130 volt sockets in bathrooms, for shavers only. Adapters can be bought in specialty stores, but may be hard to find, so a good idea is to bring one from home. There are no transformers for 130 volt to 230 volt to be found. This means that if your 130 volt appliance lacks a switch 110/130 to 220/230, then it can not be connected, even with an adapter.
