About Visit Stockholm
Visit Stockholm is provided by Destination Stockholm, Sweden's biggest domestic tour operator. We specialize in low-cost hotel packages and sell around 70.000 of them each year to tourists from 80 countries.
Our customers often ask us for general information about Stockholm, not found in our own site with inexpensive hotel packages, and we have long felt a need to help them with something really comprehensive and complete.
The contents of this site are entirely editorial. We do not accept advertising, nor payment for inclusion. We are a privately owned company, totally unaffiliated with the city's tourist office. No politicians serve on our board, so we have no political considerations to take into account.
The site was designed and written by Jan Rencke (webmaster) and Emilia Hermanrud with Madeleine Linde as picture editor. It is maintained and updated by the staff of Destination Stockholm. If you book a hotel package through this site, it helps pay the bill. (Thank you.) If not, no problem. We just hope you enjoyed our effort.
In 2005 - for the 12th consecutive year - we were awarded with the prestigious Grand Travel Award as best domestic tour operator. The award is presented by Sweden's leading travel trade magazine - Travel News - based on votes from a jury of 500 Swedish travel agency employees.
